I am a writer and creative practice researcher based in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University where I am a member of the non/fictionLab research group. My interdisciplinary expertise is situated within the disciplines of creative writing and the visual arts. I am interested in the politics of value, power, interpretation, subjectivity, and resistance. I bring to my writing and thinking a rigorous engagement with critical and psychoanalytic theory, aesthetics, and form; as well as a commitment to collaboration and collectivity.

I am purposefully not on any social media, but can be contacted via email: melody[dot]ellis[at]rmit.edu.au.

I acknowledge the the rightful owners and traditional custodians of the unceded land on which I live, write, teach and parent. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
