1. In the bookshop where I used to work, I bought a copy of Jung’s Four Archetypes because it had a chapter entitled: THE MOTHER-COMPLEX. Written just like that, in capitals.
2. Mother: ancestor, antecedent, attend, author, authority, bear, bring forth, centre, cherish, child-bearer, creator, cultivate, determinant, encourage, forebearer, foster, grow, keep alive, keep tabs on, look after, mainspring, mind, minister, nurse, nurture, origin, pamper, pay attention to, protect, provide for, root, raise, see to, source, support, wait on, watch over.
